I went to a poetry slam tonight. It's been a while since I've been there, and it was nice to see all my old friends. Unfortunately, there was no competition tonight, so I didn't get to slam, but I got to see a lot of my friends perform (and do an awesome job with it), and next week will be my BIG comeback.
What I loved was that my friend Jared, the man who I admire more than anyone, was hosting and talking about this whole thing about how pornogrophy was so degrading towards women. Now, Jared's one of the most vehemently political people I know, and I respect his opinion greatly. And what I love about him as that he's open to hearing opposing viewpoints. So I talked to him after the show and asked him what he thought about Suicide Girls. His response: "I was referring to 95% of pornogrophy. My real problem is the degredation, and, from what I know about that site, it isn't really degrading."
So congratulations, SG! When Jared takes over the world and makes everything peaceful, then SG will be spared.
