Hey bro,
I'm back in the world (for a week or two anyway). Sorry I didn't manage to get any cool pics, but we're going back for another month so I'll see what I can get then.
Nice ink. I'm still waiting for a clear schedule for my next tat. I had a buddy who got inked just before a training exercise once; man was that ever the worst infection. Not pretty.

Cool tattoo - everyone in my family has recently (in the last few years) got the 'family tattoo' - which really make it too lame to get
Holden Caufield and post-traumatic stress - the 90s answer to Catcher in the Rye.
Thanks for removing my "geekgirl has NO friends" status ... made the geek part really fit.
hmmm, guinness, guinness, guinness (wonder if I can sneak one into the bath tub before the control freak I live with sees me .,. but then the fridge would be sadly devoid of guinness and I'd have to switch to kilkenny)

Just in time to receive the shiny new nano - yaaaaa. I think I might start playing more open mic nights, the last one I did was so much fun! I just love the nervous excitement beforehand - I think its actually scarier than playing with the whole band, being all alone and all... Must do that more often... my favorite song this week...

where do you do play?
madscience:
I'm so disappointed. No crosswalk flags here in Salt Lake City, and I've walked all around this damn town.
However, they still do have the safest crosswalks I've ever seen: (1) they chirp at you when it's safe to walk, (2) the east-west crosswalks chirp differently than the north-south crosswalks, (3) when the red "don't walk" sign starts flashing, it tells you how many seconds you have left to cross the street (that kinda stresses me out), and (4) on the pavement, there are big signs saying LOOK with arrows pointing to the direction(s) the traffic is coming.
But I really wish they had flags. I was hoping to appropriate one for my own, um, safety, back home. (maybe that's why they got rid of them . . . )

surfbetty:
WOW! uhhhhh...yer drunk as fuck...you Canadians party too hard for my blood...I think you made a comment about the temp..i think? Glad you had fun...but 64 is still fucking cold.
madscience:
Hooray for drunkeness!!
My friends are in Vancouver right now. They had excellent sushi at Blue Water Cafe (I think), but were sorely disappointed with the salsa dancing scene. Apparently only 3 men truly knew how to salsa (this may or may not be an exaggeration).
I'm off to Salt Lake City and the ubersafe crosswalks this week!

Why don't we work 2 days and have 5 day weekends, what's wrong with us? When did we decide this was a good idea? Anyone else actually breathe a sigh of relief when they only have to do a 50 hour week?
I have discovered however, that it's all about shoes - whether they're on or off that is. Psychologically I think we're tuned to...

Right there with you man, footwear begone! (with occasional tactical exceptions for fuzzy slippers shaped like bunnies n stuff)
At the risk of ruining your footwear free mojo, I must demand that you attend Saturday night, and footwear will be necessary.
At least until the beers kick in.

I love long weekends... specially when they revolve around good friends, great food, and booze!! I had a great hike Sunday morning and took lots of b&w photos, I'll have to upload a couple soon to share... funny how b&w photos makes anyone seem artistic lol!

that sounds like a wonderful weekend, and have lots of fun with your dad!
Just when I thought things were going to slow down a little someone stepped on the accelerator... I am surrounded by sleeping dogs as I type, 3 of 'em
I love that! Gotta be thankful for the little things ya?!!

3 sleeping dogs . . . I'm jealous.
Hooray for your Canucks Wed nite! My teams didn't do so great.
I've got some friends who'll be in your fair city next Sunday and are trying to get tickets to the Stars game (umm, I think it's next Sunday, whenever the stars are in town, that I know for sure). They're girls, so they might have better luck than guys would!

You can double-post all you want if youre gonna say stuff like that.
Im sure you & your s.o. have other things in common? If you get to the Stars game on whatever Sunday theyre in town in the near future, look for my friend, shes the blond in pic #5 & shes also the beach goddess in #15.
So I finally finished the thesis and mailed things off... then in a moment of madness, went online and bought myself an Apple nano - in black of course
The only thing I like better than buying gifts for others, is buying 'em for myself
A sufficiently blurry picture from last weekends house party gig... Actually it's a shame the colour is all fucked cause...

Im catching up on my social life in my spare time! God, Ive gotten totally busy socially, which is good, but I realized I wont be able to get to a hockey game until November. We dont have a lot of home games in Oct. anyway. Oh well, at least its a nice long season, I've got pleeennntty of time!
So what about this Bush character? Seems like a creep, wasn't there anyone better to vote for?
Mister Special Needs Himself
Seems like such an ass clown. Don't get me wrong, America is a beautiful place, it'd just be a wee bit more beautiful without him

I like to paint, but don't get much time to do it. When I paint a whole day can go by & I don't even realize it... all of a sudden, it is dark & I am like "WTF?" & I really need more supplies. I am lazy about getting supplies.
But, mostly I like doing stuff on Photoshop. I need to put some up in my photoshop folder here on SG. I have a desktop & a banner I did for SG in the SG Army folder.
I just like being creative in any way. Well, right now I am doin' the mom thang mostly, so I don't do much of it. But, when he flies out of the nest I will be very much more into it.

Great show last night, huge crowd and our bass player even dragged out the cheesy fog machine and designed an opening sequence with the 2001 Space Odyssey theme, the "good evening Tokyo" from Cheap Trick live at Budokan intro, and a sexy voice announcing the band name - hilarious!! We opened with a fun cover of Bohemian Like You - too much fun!!
