Since the e-mail is down at work again, I guess that means it's time to update my SG journal.

Have I mentioned that I'm counting the hours until Thanksgiving break? Have I mentioned that I'm dangerously close to the end of my rope? The last straw is visible, and this camel is about to bolt.

I hate to disappoint my eager fans--my favorite foxy Floridians--but I just don't think I can bear sticking around this place a minute longer than I absolutely have to. Kink in the stacks will have to be postponed. I'll come up with something for you tonight, but in the comfort and safety of my own home.

The good part is that I'm coping with the craziness a lot better. I mean, I'm not just clamming up and hating the whole world. Still, there's just endless amounts of shit heading my way.

No, the better analogy is a scene from a kung fu movie in which an endless stream of minions charges the hero. Sure, I can keep knocking them out, but I'd really rather just have a break.

But what could be stressful about being a librarian? you might well be asking yourselves.

I won't go into the whole catalogue of insanity, but at the top of the list is:

construction workers in the special collections stacks.

And that's just the tip of my iceberg.
