I re-activated my SG account after about three and a half years. Things sure have changed around here. I just spent an hour reading all my old blog posts (did they even call them "blogs" back then) from 2004/5. My life is so very different now. I'm living in a new town in a new state with a new job and a new cat. My...

On the one hand I had a really good dinner last night with a friend from the English department who took me out to thank me for talking to her classes and told me what a great job I'm doing.

On the other hand, my 10:30 appointment blew me off and my evil bossman just dropped some shit on my desk that HE sat on...

Back to school sales get me all worked up into a phrenzy.

That's right: A PHRENZY

The pencils.

The pencil cases.

The smell of a brand new trapper keeper!

I expire!

Thanks.

The right site, working from a collection like
Bill Blackbeard once maintained, which is now
at Ohio State, could ring the bells from here to
Wales.

This is nice stuff. THANKS. You knew I just
signed a small contract to write a book about
the first decades of the history of the comics.
By the way that Men of Tomorrow book is just
terrific, if you don't know it already. He's a
nice guy, too. We did a program for KPFA together.

The irrelevant smart rump to the comics world
gets smarter, and more germane to art all the
time. But who is kidding who. It's the facist
avenger core to the Superheroes which is winning all the audiences. Alan Moore had it
dead on with Watchman twenty years ago.

I see Fatality among your friends. She is probably a genius. I think the world of her.

On vacation. I need to come up with a single picture that captures my vacation vibe, but so far it's just me and a stack of books and lots of music.

I just finished a big book about the Rolling Stones--a band I've always kind of liked but never studied in any systematic way. I spent the last week reading their history and downloading and...

So the whole purpose of my trip to Amsterdam was to attend my best friend's wedding which was in Bielefeld, Germany. After he and I spent two glorious nights in Amsterdam we took a train due East to Bielefeld.

The whole event was really nicely done, but them Germans sure do love their booze. The ceremony ran from noon to about 12:30 and the first...
