The second day back at work is a whole lot easier than the first. But the important thing is that I had a fucking blast in Europe for the last two weeks.

Here's some quick highlights, pix will follow soon:

Berlin: that whole city rocks. It just blew my mind that I spent almost all of my time in parts of the city that had been off-limits for almost 50 years. I also picked up "The Innocent" by Ian McEwan, which is all about cold war berlin--it's a great book.

Prague: this place is like New Orleans. THere's an amazing city with beautiful architecture and fascinating history burried under a thick layer of yahoo tourists and sex clubs. Not that I mind, it's just an odd juxtaposition.

Vienna: this was my surprise favorite. I don't know what I was expecting, but this place is awesome. I loved the Museum Quarter, which is a very cool complex of about half a dozen separate museums of contemporary art and all sorts of cafes and happenings and such.

Budapest: the Budapest Day Parade was pretty amazing--just tons of people getting freaky on the streets with about a million different sound systems playing at once. The baths the next day were the perfect end to a long trip.

Coming home to the Republicans kind of sucks, but it's still a beautiful day and I'm glad to be back in the NY groove.
