I think one of my fav christmas' of yore was when I was in Japan: there were families that lived in Tokyo that would sponser Marines for a holiday. So a buddy and I took the trains from Yokosuka up to Tokyo, wandered around town trying to find this apartment building. After much bowing and domos we found it. Swanky place, too! Suffice to say...

I so want to see Japan one day. My grandfather went there twice. Once to save a bunch of art During WWII and another time after the war to returrn it to the country. I have one of the journals he kept on his return trip.

Hope this Christmas rocked for you!
gunnymo:
Christmas was good, retail aside.

Things are finally settling down. Yay!

Thank Jeebus I survived Friday...ugh! Black Friday indeed! Off tomorrow! woo! Lots of exclamation points there, I see. Must be the late night/early morning euphoria setting in. Interesting. Looking at my past journal entries I've been with SG for over a year now...kewl beaners. Do I get a special hat or something?
yawf:
i think you could tell by the double post,
i was succesful @ drinking.
the writing part is entirely opinion based though hehe.

I thought this was going to be my first "Black Friday" working retail. Then the keyholder, or whatever, calls me up and says they're over on they're hours at my store. Since I got me a full time and was not really looking forward to the whole Retail hell thing I relinquished my shift.

Congrats to you on both your survival and your longevity. You should so totally get a hat, or maybe a christmas card even.

God...i've worked 12+ hours since Friday! It's all for a good cause though...my career! wink When my regional director (my bosses boss) comes into a store in our district, says it's the worst looking/operating one he's ever seen and asks ME to fix it...you better believe I'll do it. But whew! At least I finally have tomorrow off (no day off since Sunday before last).

It's...

I am a man without a home. My store was given to a new manager while I wait for a new store to open. So sad. It's like leaving my children at daycare. Take care, my little ones!

On the upside I get to float around the district for the next several weeks doing this and that. I believe the term is "district bitch".

At...

Hi Gunny; it's Jeff, from the SGamers group. Just heard you manage a Gamestop, and I was wondering: is it true Gamestop employees (or managers at least) get to go to E3?

gah, my cat is such a food whore! She'll try to first look all sexy by stretching out on the floor and if that doesn't work she'll jump on me and start rubbing her face all over mine. Sheesh.

Anyway, have vacation coming up next week. What to do, what to do. Probably going to end up catching up on all the DVDs and anime...

Don't you love it? Ugh.

At Wal-Mart we had the Halloween "set" (or the Halloween section) but we also have an X-Mas "pre-set". X-Mas! It's not even Thanksgiving yet!!!

Thanks for the message. I appreciated it.

Golly gee whiz. I think my motherboard and cpu had a suicide pact together...Now that I'm finally back on the 'net and have caught up on all my SG backlog...whew! I've hardly time for work, video games, and feeding my DVD addiction. For me to work at a store that sells DVDs, and giving me a discount to buy them, is like putting a crackhead...
