My oldest daughter has needed a surgery, and it was scheduled for next Wednesday. On Friday, we're heading to Chicago for two days before flying over to be there for her surgery as well as spend Christmas and new years with my children.

I've just received word that they lived the surgery up to today following an appointment yesterday afternoon, and that it has gone...

Her growth started growing again, so they removed it and are going to re-biopsy it. I apologize if that's not the correct wording, that's my understanding after translating it out of German. 😂 Also, the "we're" in my post should have been "we were", as in "we were going... for her surgery." We are still heading over, it's just going to be after the surgery now.

That’s wonderful!

This is the time of the year I spend a lot of time on the road, and usually with large loads.

I've been processing it since, but about a week ago I was heading down the road with a load full of soybeans. The road outside the farm my parents live on is a flat, straight stretch of state highway. I had just got up...

I know this is an odd place to post this, but does anyone want to see what modern farming looks like?

I run a grain and beef farming operation with my dad and brother, and my girlfriend's family has a fruit farm and orchard on one side and a tree farm on the other.

I don't want to plug timelines, so I'm thinking that if...

@royal I had to read what this was to remember 😂 I'll try to post something tonight

I'm interested, too.  Grew up in Iowa, and one whole side of my family farmed.  It's been almost two decades since the last farm in my family was sold, though, so I'm not up on how things are done these days.

They've been filming a movie in my area, and have left the neighboring hillside. Now they're in a local town and supposed to wrap up today.

I'm trying not to be the local farmer that doesn't like outsiders...... But these outsiders don't know how to drive.

I don't think there are hills where they're from.

and wow... it also sounds like they don't know the area where their working. How did they not do a proper risk assessment to protect people? Ugh, not very reassuring!
gschmelzer:
Yes. 😂 and I figure that everyone can have moments of idiocy.

Hi there, and happy Saturday.

I've been watching two geckos this week; they belong to a nearby 5th grade class and I watched them while the classroom teacher and their summer care taker went on vacation.

It's been great. It brought me back to my childhood, when I had reptiles pretty much the entire time I was growing up.

But now, they go back tomorrow.

This is Neptune. He's a foster dog.

His family had to give him up, they couldn't care for him because he has epilepsy.

He's with someone pretty much 24 hours a day.

And he's a fantastic dog.

He's just a little clumsy and just a little cognitively slow due to the medicine he is on, but he's still a sweetheart.

He loves attention, and being...

Hi!

I didn't post anything positive from yesterday.

Something happened that had my mind racing all night long.

I was moving hay bales out of a field last evening, and when I went to get a bale that had rolled into a corner there was a cougar / puma / mountain lion laying on a limb above me.

It was a very big one, and

So, SG at its best is a social media network that has become a positive respite for me.

In fact, it's basically the only social media I'm on.

Mental health and positivity are important to me, and supporting people and sharing positivity are important to me as well.

With that being said, I'm going to start sharing positivity about once a day. It might be...

@gschmelzer Great day actually. I just scored a job! Up next seeing what I prequalify for and then on the hunt for property. Feel free to catch me up on your day as well.
gschmelzer:
@royal, sounds like a big day. Property as in dirt or as in a dwelling, or both? I'll talk about my day but need more thinking. Time to feed animals. Need some labor, it's my meditation.
