EDIT: Round 1: Viral Invaders.
EDIT: Round 2: The rampaging viral hordes.
EDIT: Round 3: A draw.
EDIT: Round 4: Grayness, just barely.
The cold I held out against since Monday afternoon threw its best stuff at me, right before the weekend. Oh well... that's what the miracle of modern cold remedies and lots of hot tea are for.
I'm hoping to kick this thing and do more than one more blog this weekend. I have to work a little tomorrow, but that's no big deal. What I'm actually looking forward to even less is the Super Bowl party thing I really don't want to go to. Silly people- if you like me, let me have one day of not having to leave the house. But they are nice silly people to whom I owe a debt of gratitude... *sigh*
Plus side to having this cold... if it's still here tomorrow, I have a legitimate excuse to beg off. An altruistic one, even.
Aren't I just ever so noble?
I talked with an old friend from these parts this evening. Since I didn't ask if I could, I am not going to name a name. She's been gone a good while now.
Anyway, the story is one that happens all too often. Husband leaving wife and kids, just when things are pretty much at their worst, and the wife is the one left to pick up the slack and hold it together. She has to; her kids are counting on her.
You have to admire the strength that goes into that.
I told her I was proud of her. I just wish... better, for so many people who deserve it.
