The Month of Study has times when one may think- "Was I really thinking just now?" Those are times that also give rise to other, deeper questions, questions such as "Should I really be allowed to play with sharp objects?"

As some of you may know, I have an ongoing war with the kudzu on my place. For those who have not had the pleasure of meeting kudzu in person, let me introduce you. Friend, meet kudzu (note the 'Invasive species" section). Kudzu, you miserable, tree-killing pest of a clinging vine that grows quickly enough that you can watch it grow, meet my friend (or random nice reader wink ).

I don't *really* hate kudzu per se, I just hate what it does to trees- that is, overgrow them and kill them.

Anyhow, I was out keeping my baby trees safe, and cutting kudzu, and while slicing it, I also did a nice little number on my left index finger. It will heal, but it's quite the gash. So for the time being, I am typing (and doing whatever else) while holding my left index finger out the way one would hold one's pinky out while drinking tea in a genteel fashion.

So. Sharp things. Be careful with them. Even if your cause is just, your aim may not be quite so true...

The Month of Study's questions, so far...

You've been shipwrecked, stranded on an island for at least a year. One morning you are walking on the beach, and in the sand, you come upon one footprint. Yes, one. No footprints leading to it, no footprints leading from it. What is your reaction? (Bonus points if you choose to tell how it happened. )

What's your question for me?

and

What's the handiest trick you know that you can summarize in a few words to a few paragraphs?

I will answer my question from last time, next time. My question for this time: What's something stupid you've done recently... or heck, something really clever you've done is fine, too. smile

But I am choosing stupid and it's already answered. tongue biggrin (so that makes up for being slow sharing my trick with you.)

"The flowers are copious nectar producers and are visited by many species of insects, including bees, butterflies and moths." Like most things, it has its good side.
