That was like a complete failure. Or they knew it couldn't be done and rigged it to blow the chute as soon as it left the ground. Take off at 280mph to shoot something with such poor aerodynamics as a continental a mile? I'm skeptical that anyone expected this to actually work.

Gee, I would have never guessed that a Lincoln Continental can't fly tongue

On this morning in the summer many years since I was born
I sit waiting
Contemplating-
Items varied in their scope.
One of which might hold some minor interest, I might hope.

A list of lists could list a list that might then list the first-
It's a bit of cyclic whimsy that I've once before rehearsed...
But imagine now a set of sorts of...

This is the Wednesday morning song-
It's not too short nor yet too long...
Awfully hard to get it wrong-
This simple Wednesday morning song.

This is my Wednesday morning rhyme-
The meter sucks, the scheme's a crime...
Add a verse if you have some time-

So, I went and saw Up yesterday. This year, I've skipped Watchmen, Star Trek, Wolverine, and I'll be skipping Terminator- not that I won't see three of the four eventually on DVD, but I've just not been in the mood. Horrible confession: I haven't even seen The Dark Knight yet.

None of which is meant to slight any of these movies,...

Aww, thank you. blush

I haven't seen The Dark Knight either. Or Watchmen. Or Wolverine. Or Up. tongue I can only afford very very infrequent cinema trips so I mostly see one movie a season.

Oh, and turtle rescue? - love love love kiss

madmelancolie:
You're a kind of superhero in the turtle's world biggrin
It's really hard seeing a movie for me, because I can't stay concentrated on the film and i start doing another thing if I'm on the computer. I'd have to watch it on the cinema but it's expensive blackeyed Anyway I've heard that Wolverine was lame, but I want to see Antichrist because it made a polemic at Cannes.
(and thanks for the compliment btw blush )

Welcome!

Wednesday.

Well, wonderful.

Wonder *what* we want? Would "who" work well? Which word would we wish?

We won't willfully waste words.

I think I'll may turn brunette when I'll have my first piercings. Because I love to be noticed tongue (oh vanity of the human race ! biggrin)

I had to search for the word spooky (thanks to the urban dictionary (and you), I know what it means now !), and I think you're right, that's a weird drawing... I tend to love spooky things maybe ! xD

Well Mirri's white hair is new. I was definitely pining over her long before that.

I've made it past the itching phase, skin still mostly intact. (When I first typed that out, it said "in fact.")

So, I went hunting for ideas, but this day [*] they have eluded me. I had a few in my sights, but seeing their runty, lame, and half-dead natures, I had not the heart to let the arrow fly.

Then too, it's not polite to serve that which is already 9/10ths carrion to one's friends.

Back sometime soon... ish. Unless someone gives me an...

Ok, let's play a little game.

Say I'm a movie producer, and you have to pitch a movie to me. It has to be a buddy/road trip genre kind of movie. Pick two characters- from anywhere in fiction or real life, and make your pitch.

Meanwhile, back at the ranch...

It really is so hard to not come off as pretentious when you talk about certain things.

It frustrates me.

I can try to explain at least, I hope this won't be too confused...

Aristote said that because we need the company of others humans to grow up, to learn how to walk, how to talk, how to use our hands (it's like Rousseau's thought here). Without it people could grow up, but not as "complete" humans.

There's a story which can explains/approves that, in France in 1750 (I'm really not sure at all of the date), there was children abandoned in the wood (because of starving, economical/historical problems) when they were maybe 1 or 2 years old. One of them survived, and people of the society tried to learn to him how to talk/use his hands (especially) and he simply couldn't, he physically couldn't. I think there was a film/book made of it, but I can't even remember the name of this child, I'll search it if you're interested.

So Aristote is here talking about the 1st society in which humans are (Rousseau will say it's the family by the way), and I'm reducing it to the life in general, but Aristote never said it was impossible to be a hermit and to live by ourselves tongue
madmelancolie:
I'm interested in philosophy, and in psychology more precisely, so I'll try to keep reading/learning about it when my philosophy classes will be finished.
And yes, i've eve, talk to a mother who believe that the 10 1rst days of the life of a child are very important, she thought his child had some.. well not an eating disorder, but he ate far too much, because in his 10 1st days, he didn't have enough to eat.
It's strange how people evolve with time !

Ever feel like you've been trying to figure out which shell the pea was under, only to realize you should have been trying to figure out which card was the red queen? And that the terms of the game were such that you had nothing to win...?

Yeah.
