No, really. This is a serious entry.

Ok, here's the deal.

I'm in college, I work at an ice cream shop. I make $5.85 an hour and I work 15 hours a week.

I pay my cable bill and my rent. (Cable is like...$40 a month and rent is $290)

My parent's pay for gas, groceries, insurance, and electric bill.

The university pays for my tuition.

I also pay for my expensive habits, such as video games and guns. Guns I can stop buying, video games...not so much.

I'm about to join the Army, and they'll be paying me soon enough (somewhere between $500-$1500 a month).

If I quit my job to focus on school, my parent's are going to give me an allowance, however that is pretty much going to not cover anything. Why? They're going to give me an allowance to "support myself" and well, I'm already pretty well supported. In other words, the only reason for such an allowance would be for me to spend however I want to, and that's exactly what they're not going to let me do. Soooo...fuck that.

But I really want to quit my job. Definitely going to quit my job before the summer (it's bad enough as it is and it's the middle of winter, an Ice Cream shop in the summer is not where I want to be). My question is this, should I go find another job first to support my expensive habits, should I just stick with my job, or should I quit and just try to hold out until the military starts paying me moneys?

Oh yeah, the job also pays for SG, but if I quit, I sure as hell am not going to quit SG, I fuckin' love it here.

I need answers, I'm desperate.

Hold me.

yes, you should try and find another job first. i quit my old job when i started school because they didn't want to be flexible with my hours. it took me a little over a year to find another job.
i'd get out of there before spring hits. i'm always thinking about the seasons where i work and how much traffic we'll be getting.
