Yes, I saw Billy Idol on Friday night. It was WMMR's free concert for "spring break". I got handed a couple of tickets, so I figured why the hell not, Billy Idol is kinda cool. Turns out, it was a pretty awesome concert. He still sounds great, he's a very effective showman, and he doesn't look at all his age. I admit, I have a bit of a rock star fetish... so from where I was standing he was pretty hot. I'm sure if I'd gotten closer it might have been different. Anyway, he is aging extremely well. His voice is still good and he rocks out. His new stuff isn't bad... sounds like his old stuff. The concert was hilarious, too... imagine all the aging 80's fans rocking out in the audience.



But there's a catch. This was WMMR's spring break show... so I guess the people there took it to heart. I have never been in a situation that was so full of creepy skeevy guys. It was insane. Holly and I couldn't walk five feet without getting a "How you doin?" from some drunk guy. I actually got comments like "Hey, Hottie" and "Where have you been?" How do I respond to this? Not more than ten minutes after we walked in the door, one guy walked up to us all creepy-like with some cheesy line, so I whipped out my Sharpie and said, "Can I sign your ass?"

He said, "Sure."

????? This was too fucking easy. So I signed seven asses and took pictures of them all. I could have signed fifty asses. EVERYONE said yes. They were all creepy guys who walked up with cheesy lines, except one was an exceeedingly drunk girl who followed us around afterward saying we were her favorite people in the world. It was kind of bizzare. We left before the encore because Holly got groped by one of those drunk crazies.

Yeah, that's a day in the life of Goob. Actually, that was only the evening. Cuz you know afterwards I went back to the bar, and hung out til late. The guy came as I'd said, and conversed with Holly and I without too much hitting-on. That was polite of him, don't you think? Anyway, he has continued the hitting-on via AIM and on the phone. I'm still not sure about this one. I'll probably see him again this week.

Then, of course... Wes's party last night. Can I get a HELL YEAH for hanging out with the cool kids? That being my Holly, Steve, Gadget, Toaster42, and my favoritest favorite awesome friend Aragorn97. We were the coolest people at the party, especially Richard. I have pictures of him peeing into that thing by the fire. I peed into it, too. Right now, I can't for the life of me figure out WHY. I don't even know what it was.

Yeah, I guess I was a little drunk. That's okay, it was loads of fun. I think I needed that fun.

I'd tell more about it, but damn, I'm tired and I still have my Linguistics reading to catch up on.

Oh if you didn't get anything it's not cuz I don't love you, it's cuz either you don't have a wishlist posted or I just realized that I can't be buying something for EVERYONE cuz that's a lot of $$, yo.


OOooh... you know what I just discovered? I changed my preferences so that I'm in Eastern time. So cool! Now I don't feel like I'm living in a time warp anymore. I never knew I could do that. It makes too much sense!
