Today's lesson:
SNOW MAKES PEOPLE FREAK OUT.
Not a new lesson... but oh my, what a fuckup is caused by a few freaking flakes.
Not that it bothers me... in fact I enjoy the chaos of a rush-hour-snow. It's a really cool adventure, and an excuse to turn the radio loud to whatever classic rock station is rocking me best. One particularly exciting day a few years ago, a local DJ got the notion to play Pink Floyd's "Animals" in its entirety for my winter wonderland drive home from school. It was surreal. I wasn't the only one to remember that day fondly... I was listening one afternoon and heard a caller on the station describe my same experience, many moons later.
In fact, I'd go right back out into it, if I had somewhere to go. Heh... I just found out that the Big Lebowski is playing tonight at the Troc. If only I'd known earlier! I was at Temple, right around the corner! But it starts at 8 and it was 7:30 when I heard about it. Grrr.
That's okay... I'm staying home tonight. I listened to Animals first of course, and now I have Beth Orton "Daybreaker" on because Paris Train is one of my favorite wintertime songs because I listened to it non-stop one winter. Ah.
I had this idea today to make fish soup. I'll let you know how it turns out. Perch is good for soup, right?
Oh yeah... all you guys love my pictures, right? Wanna see a whole bunch? I just posted 3 pages of random pictures to my website. They are awesome. Maybe you're even in some of them... http://goob2.20megsfree.com/misc1.html Anyway they're a lot of fun. Lots of pictures from my parties and others, and my family and friends, and all the cool places I've been in the last year or so.
Um... okay... what else?
nothing?
Guess not.

ps - thanks for the 'niece-love!'
"Animals" is my favorite Floyd album HANDS DOWN. It's just so damn good. In fact...after I listen to The Wall (that will make sense if you read my journal) I'm going to listen to Animals.
Done and done.
