Happy 2006!
I spent my New Year with a slow start. Me and Holly and some of her roommates and their cow orkers went to a club in Anchorage. It was $21 each and it was Bond themed. So I borrowed a hand-me-down prom dress and we got as dressed up as we could. I have pictures that I might post later. The dress I wore was okay- I was a little fat for it though and I didn't have proper shoes, so it was kinda not very Bond Girl ish. I needed some fucking heels, that's what. Oh well.
So we go to this club and it's full of blondes in sequined dresses and leering men, and it took us about 45 minutes to get any friggin drinks, by which time the guys had split up and gone to 2 different bars upstairs and down, then we met up with 2 drinks for everyone. Haha! The drinks were shitty, the music was too loud, it actually smelled gross, there was noplace to smoke a cigarrette unless you went outside (with no coat cuz they're checked) then waited in line to get back in. Luckily Courtney got all swilly and started making out with one of the guys, so she had a good time. Two of our party had VIP tickets so they went into the VIP room where people were having sex and blowjobs and stuff. Fucking crazy. But we never got to see any of the crazy shit cuz we decided to leave. It was a sorry waste of $21. So me and Holly and one of the guys went to abother bar at like 12:30. The streets of Anchorage were full of all kinds of people being loud and crazy, with hats and sparkly things and noisemakers. As soon as we got outside it was so refreshingly FUN that we were in a better mood immediately. We went to Darwin's Theory where the bartenders actually serve you, the music was great and at a negotiable volume, and the people were in friendly spirits. I took about 200 pictures.
So what if that bar didn't have anyone giving blowjobs in the back room. I signed a dude's sombrero and I got a picture of Santa Claus on a bicycle.
Yesterday I took a long walk with a couple of Holly's roommates through some of the city's parks. It was energizing and gorgeous and I'm so glad I went, but I'm pissed that I didn't bring my camera. I kept forgetting it everywhere we went the first couple days. But I'll have it tonight! I just feel dumb because I missed all the good cloud weather. Now it's snowing a bit and I don't think you can see the mountains anymore.
I think me and Holly are going to Humpy's tonight. Bar food is calling me. You know what's awesome? I still haven't showered this year. HAHAHAHAHA!!!! I AM DIRTY GOOOOOB!

But the whole Bank thing with SG has been resolved. Apparently my old bank gave SG money, So according to SG everything is honkey dorey. Go me for getting (so far) a month free of SG (with the possibility of getting the entire year free)
