Random thoughts of the day

-Ding Dong the shitheads are gone! Maybe we can be friends with the world again..........

-You know that they say about guys with big hands? They have one fuck all of a time replacing parts on a jeep. I may need to hire a dwarf to reach up into the engine compartment to replace the fucking part I need to...

Wow I just got the go ahead on a 10 cd deal. The few week lull seemed normal but this year with all the gloom and doom in the news I thought the worst. It just boiled down to good communication and being priced reasonably.

So it is off to the hot tub and watching my dvr to catch up on some squidbillies episodes I...

I've seen AVAIL about 15 times during my hazy high-school days. I remember them performing 'Pink Houses.' God, what an amazing band.

Ricardo Montalban-RIP

Go Easy Island Mon.

My best story of him comes from an audio company in California I used to deal with. They had his voice on the voice menu of their phone system. To reach Eddie, press wan. Etc. I asked how they got him to do that and they put a In Home Cinema set up for him and they asked him...

Aiyeee, There was an explosion at one of my favorite beer places! Abita Beer in Abita Springs. The food there is tits too. I hope it is not too bad.

It was the first beer I ever had visiting my cool uncle in Louisiana as a kid. I remember walking outside to hang with the dog 3 legged jack and it immediately going flat...

Now the dust has settled, finally. Man I think last year was a record for funerals, drama, musical artist horseshit ( I had to sue 2 people for payment).

From what I gather it was a rough year for everyone. It made hope go to the leery dept. And hope may not show up again for a while. Fuck another label I work with failed...

Good luck with that. And best luck in 2009. I'm not sure if they need anything mastered, but my boyfriends band put out one cd about a year ago and they had a lot of problems with their producer (aka- he sent the wrong version of the album to be mastered and mass produced and refused to take responsibility for his mistakes) So if you know any decent producers or labels around Maryland looking for a groovy jazzy funky rock band, Tell them about The Rez http://myspace.com/therezband/
They're headlining Rams Head Live for the second time on saturday!

If it's any consolation, you're still my hero because you're doing what I was supposed to be doing, hahahaha!

Well we whooped it up like champs. Hit 2 bars and got pretty silly. The mescalito was kind of weak and I did not want to go overboard with it. I should have taken more I think. But some semblance of sanity was needed with our bunch. I got drunk as a skunk though.

So I think that is it for a while. It was...

as for the snow... it can be quite fun.. cold, but fun.... try to enjoy it...

dmac:
I'm definitely not in love with snow! I've caught my fill here in the Northwest with another 3 inches falling in my yard in the wee small hours of Friday morning. I never thought I'd say it, but damn, I wouldn't mind a little bit of nice normal rain.

Glad you scratched your itch. I'm feeling itchy about a few things right now, too, but I'm doing my best to live the life of a boring 40-something year old professional female. Meh, I'll think about that tomorrow......Right after my drum corp rehearsal. biggrin wink

So I got back to the lair and had what I think is close to 12 hours of fitful sleep. Damn I needed it. NYE was spent with friends drinking and telling 14 year old stories of working at a summer musical in Upstate NY. Wow 1995 was a long time ago. I was a spry roadie back then. Most of my friends were still...

Well I am traveling again. This time to Texas for a friends sons funeral. He was pretty sick from a bacterial infection, went into septic shock and finally died. He was a sweet kid. 11 Years old.

He came to visit with his dad last summer and put his underwear on outside of his sweatpants, grabbed a towel as a cape and decided he would...

Sounds like he was a sweet kid...I'm so sorry that you've had to deal with so much loss these past few months. Hopefully, the new year will bring more joy than pain.
From what I hear about your neighbor, I've made up my mind that I can't stand the prick.
dmac:
A marvelous story, Captain Fireworks. He sounds like he was a real gem of a kid. frown
Not QUITE the same as your beautifully described story of Stephen, but it was the closest tribute I could find.
