IMHO:
Some of my fave bands: Metallica, Iron Maiden, Dream Theater, and now Nevermore, really haven't written a particularly great song in a long time. Individually, there is some amazing musicianship in all their music, but as songs, as individual musical components, they're lacking. Of course it's also my humble opinion that when it comes to these bands (and some others, to be sure), even a "bad" song is way, way better than many other bands' attempts.
Anyway, here's one of my faves off the new Nevermore CD. Jeff Loomis is one of the most amazing guitarists...EVER.

I love those bands as well. I've seen Metallica and Dream Theater before. Awesomeness. My music taste varies. I like A LOT of different stuff.
