Michael Jackson: "Heal the World"
No artist is better at seamlessly combining overblown earnestness with utter vagueness of message. In "Heal the World," (a spiritual sequel, if not an overt retread, of "We are the World"), Jacko shatters the delicate shell of public complacency by airing the shocking and little-known truth that "there are people dying!" Jackson's goal isn't merely to break the silence surrounding...

so i had a dream i met spooky last night. it was totally strange - sg was actually 2 seperate entities, though i can't really remember the differences b/t the 2, and i had dropped out of one of them and wanted back in again. i met him in his office, where he was watching a big screen tv. it was a very large office,...

I can't even remember!
I just tried to figure out by looking at all of your postings, but I couldn't find anything. Maybe I shoulda looked at my postings!??!
I'm kinda like the guy from Memento, only not quite as bad and without the all the tattoos.
I never meant to hurt you baby, I never meant to make you cry.
digdug:
OOOH
I just found it.
I take it back. I did mean to make you cry.
As someone who was born and raised in Indiana (not proud, just a fact) I am offended.
You should be ashamed.
Now go outside and flog yourself 20 times with your belt, better yet, I'm coming over right now to do the job myself! Watch out cookie!

ok it is official. my kitten has crossed the line.

so he's really mouthy since he can't really use his front paws right? and everyone knows i'm basically always naked while sitting in front of my computer alone in my room in the hot hot summer heat. so my navel is pierced and jan likes to chew on that ring, or sometimes he'll reach up...

regarding lying boy: two years and you didn't know! that's awful .. i think i have more impatience + less respect for people who lie about all the little things in life ("yes, i returned your video on time") constantly than people who tell monsters every so often ("i slept with jimmy page"). i would just laugh at the latter, whereas the former actually deals with your everyday life.
batattak:
Hey cool!!! I just noticed that yur birthday is 3 days after mine.
Now I know why I think yer too cool for words...yer a a Sagitarius too!

OK, it is now official. I have been out-of-love for too fucking long. For a moment I thought that ice cream was better. But at least I have clear memories of ice cream.

ok here's the deal. i'm really getting pissed off about this whole burning kitten thing. why? because it's apparently arousing intense emotions, which is good, but you know what? it was one kitten. period. and he's dead. yet there are millions of animals who are still getting tortured and are suffering horribly every day, there are shelters that put down 90% of the healthy animals...

Phaedra is exactly right! I guess since my life has only been spent around animals who are loved , and I haven't seen any of the awful things that she has, I haven't gotten the-- 'detatchment' isn't the right word-- 'perspective' ?-- to see past something that hits me so viscerally as any individual instance of such cruelty... I think the anger about the kitten is justified, but it mustn't just stop after a few moments venting at the keyboard...

And Phaedra-- I'll go out first thing AM to get some ropes and duct tape. Is early afternoon good for the trunk abduction?
jessica:
Wow, what's this whole story about? I just wanted to write and tell you that your pirate party story cracked me up waaay to hard, but then I read your journal. I'm all about animal rights too. Zona and I were talking about it the other day. If you tell us where the kitten burner is, I'll kick some ass!

i swear i can't think of any worse way to spend my day than bringing my cats to the vet. luca is the devil incarnate. sedation every time which fucking costs a fortune. argh. anyone else have any interesting vet/doctor/etc stories?

poor jan had to get 3 shots, blood drawn, and ear mite meds. he's due for a rest.

at least that dog we lost...

poor Luca! my cat Gus loves car rides and is scared of nothing, so vets aren't a problem for him. he's pretty brazen, too, and always seems to have the munchies, which gets him in trouble. last time we went for a checkup, the vet opened up the mini-fridge that contained all the little bottles of vaccines and shots, and gus jumped right into the fridge, looking for food. ha ha!
takora:
hee hee hee... i remember moving from Ohio to North Carolina when I was a kid. My parents & I were in the car (I think it was a Gremlin-- livin' large!) with our four cats. My dad's cat (huge grey long-haired mix with a tiny head) just curled up under the driver's seat, and howled and drooled the entire time. My younger siamese-mutant spent almost the whole trip standing up on my father's lap, with his paws up on the steering wheel-- he couldn't get enough of looking out of all the windows, watching everything go by... My mom's persian, and my older siamese, were too cool for such displays...
