i need to sell my bed and my dresser by monday or else i'm fucked. no one wants to buy them. i don't even think i'm strong enough to carry that shit out to the trash bin if no one comes to pick it up. my roommate will murder me if I don't get it out, though, because she's staying on to live here and...

If no one takes it sell it to her cheap...then she can sell it herself
Though...I think you would have more fun with Kay's idea biggrin

If it comes down to the last minute, call around to your local Goodwill orgs and battered-women's outfits--a lot of them pick up. Last time I moved three badass chicks from the rape crisis center showed up and ten minutes later my recliner, sofa, and bookcases were gone.

In one week I'll be a college graduate... but this all feels more surreal than a part of actual existence.

Over the next week I have the "the finals week of hell" which includes a 1,100 article, a 25 page paper that I have yet to start, and four final exams. But once I finish those, I am done, done, done, done, done.

And then...

Moves are good, assuming it's your idea. Places are more different than you sometimes expect, and it's great to try out different ways of living before you get locked down by, you know, responsibilities. You feel better about setting down roots if you know what you're choosing to pass over.

Oh! I hope I didn't offend you with my comment. I just went back and reread your post in SGSF--the first time I read it I totally skimmed over the part where you said you've got housing from your intership, and figured you were going to be living with him. And then of course there was all the stuff about what HE wants and I'm thinking, "dude, does she get NO say in this just because he's the one with the money?" I'm a dork. Forgive me smile
Yeah, Oakland is looking more and more appealing. I really don't like the idea of such a long commute, but there's a good chance my boyfriend is going end up with a job that will require him to have a car ( puke ) and that doesn't seem very feasible in the city. From everything I hear, I would love to live in the Mission, but even though everyone seems to be saying it's somewhat affordable, from everything I've seen even it is out of my price range frown
What is your internship about?

They were playing all this 80's music in the shoe store today, which elivated my current feelings of nostalgia to nearly an unbearable limit. I was convinced that any moment all of the women shopping in the store would burst out into song and I would be confused whether I was in an odd music video or a commercial for mastercard (Prada shoes on sale:...

OOoh yay for impending graduation!

I actually took the GRE during my senior year, in case I wanted to go to grad school (which I didn't). It sucked. I was an english major and totally bombed the verbal portion. DOH.

It is that time of my life where the future is, well, somehow blurring into the present. That is, I'm currently approaching a time where I must select an internship for fall of 2005 that will probably, at the very least, provide a strong grounding in a specific area that will lead to a full-time job at another company in the same area.

After a...

"If you can't fail, you can't do anything."

Dad drove in to town, picked up my things and left (he forgot to book a hotel room for Sat night and refused to stay at my place although I offered him a bed.)

The conversation I had w/ my father was really great. I know I hold his opinions to be the be all end all...

...I've also decided to apply to Americorps-- I think it would be a great way to spend a year and really help a community (then feel good about myself and a little less worthless). The only thing is that as an Americorps member you make $1000 a month for full-time work. Living in the bay area, that doesn't cover much. I've been reading that most...

I think this entry proves otherwise wink
You got to help yourself before you can help others. I think you could do a lot more good if you got the best job you could....and then used your extra money and time for the good things smile
Anyway....putting aside my opinion of your BF whatever before you decide to turn down a job for the sake of staying with him....maybe you should ask yourself if he would do the same thing for you

Well, summer is settled. Have a living space, an internship, a part-time job, hopefully another part-time job, and a cool neighborhood to live in that came with a somewhat affordable pricetag. Sweet. However, I am beginning to freak out about the what happens AFTER the summer is over. I seem to think moving out to SF will be something I can just DO, but it's...

I need some new hawt photos to be taken of me, as I haven't had any pics taken in a while. But I don't know any photographers... and I'm always hesitant to meet up with strangers. Any female photographers in the Chi area want to take some pics of me? smile

So I have this odd dream of becoming an advice columnist, and I just got my own serverspace/domain name-- so I'd like to start an advice column on my site. The only thing I need now is questions, so ask away. Write your question here, sign it with your cheesy pen name, and I'll answer within 48 hours (on my site). Ask anything you want--...
