So this past week was pretty slow at work, but there were a couple days we were busy. And of course, other guy at the shop fucks up again.
Just Friday, it took him 2 hours to charge an a/c system on a car. Shouldn't have taken more than 40 minutes tops, depending on how our machine was acting. 2 hours to do something that takes a little over a half hour. Then later that day, it took him 2 and a half hours or so just to do rear brake pads and brake rotors. That also shouldn't have taken more than a half hour or so. I did the same brake work on the front of the car before he even had one side taken apart.
Anyway, on to the potential good coming from this. My dad is getting really frustrated with this guy and is talking more and more about how this other guy, whether he's ready or not, is going to have to retire soon. And since we are coming up on our slow season, maybe my dad will finally get rid of this guy. He talks all the time about how he can't trust the guy to do stuff right.
My dad and I can handle it by ourselves for a while. We did so 4 years ago over the summer ( our busiest season). And back then, I had only been working on cars for about a half a year, with no prior training or education. Having been going to classes and having more experience in general, I know a lot more now. We can do this ourselves, as long as he doesn't overbook us.
Not to mention it would be far less stressful without having to listen to the other guys bullshit all day and deal with all of his disgusting habits.
Anyway, fingers crossed my dad does something soon
