this i can relate to.
the wierdest thing is to work really, really hard all day, get no sleep, then head out into patrols that night, uncertain that you will see the sun again... i always figured that if I was going to die, I like one last beer, or a cigar, or maybe just to speak to family one last time.... that option does not exist, and you understand that however close one is, you will always die alone, and thtat is the most romantic part of death...
I only wish that maybe I did something memorable for at least one person, however insignificant it may seem. I don't wish to be remembered, just that maybe I helped someone in some way...
