The Rev. was great as always last night. He came on with four strong songs. Then he talked about someone that posted that he has had the same set forever. That seemed to piss him off a bit. So.....he did something that I have never seen him do. He took requests. How cool is that! Although it was hard to hear the requests he still played what he heard. After a few requests he went into "country time"! I knew that he could probably play some country western with the best of him, but when he played some Ernest Tubb!! He also played a very, very old Bill Haley song from 1949. His never ending paying tribute to what makes his music his is just respectful and AWESOME! So if asked if I liked the show last night.....I think a YES would be in order!
Tomorrow.....HFStival. Not going down until around noon or one. My little cousin is really looking forward to it all. She is about as cool as a fourteen year can be. I just want to be a good cousin and introduce her to music that will make her grow. Here is a good example. It was the year 2000 and my Father was having open heart surgery in Cleveland. My Aunt, cousin and I all decided to drive up together to be with my Mom and my Father. Of course I brought some cd's with me. One cd that I loaded was Beatles "One" album. My cousin then still pretty young said, "I hate the Beatles. They suck! Please don't play them!!" After the first time I played the whole cd she knew almost all the words and was bopping in the back seat. She now loves the Beatles a bunch. Her Father loved them also and really loved John Lennon. I can see why....they were both dreamers and gentle people. Glad to have had the chance to know him well.
Well.....on that note....hope all of you have a great weekend and enjoy it to the fullest!
Give me a little old fashioned love the kind that lingers through the years
The kind that's made by God up above give me a little old fashioned love
Now you can have the girls with rosy cheeks the ones that coo like turtle dove
I just want a simple girl that's sweet so give me a little old fashioned love

Words are flowing out like endless rain into a paper cup,
They slither while they pass, they slip away Across the Universe.
Pools of sorrow, waves of joy are drifting through my opened mind,
Possessing and caressing me.
Jai Guru Deva Om
This is my favorite song. It's me and my dads song.
Glad you had fun at the show! Have a good weekend. Hope you didn't get rained on too bad today
