I would think the opposite side of the country thing helps out, though, but that's unfounded speculation used to take up valuable white space.
And word. But, you see it all the time now... people want designers that can do web (as a technical skill) and do layout design (as an artistic one). Yeah, it may exist, but it's kind of like hiring someone to design your house plans, then expect them to build it with the same level of skill as a professional carpenter. Or for that matter to ask your carpenter to do your wiring.
(I say this as I secretly pride myself as being a jack-of-all-trade type.
