Yeah this is quite true. It's really fucking hard to stick anything to police though. However (taken from Adam's blog once again):

Today, the mayor of Clinton received letters from every large queer organization in the nation, telling him how disgusted they were with how we were treated in Clinton on our stay. It basically told him that the nation had it's eyes on him and to treat us with respect.

Hopefully that will do some good.
