Hopefully your school will be good about that. Second semester my sophomore year, I'd just transferred to a new college, and I had an aunt die right before midterms and an uncle die right before finals. Bad, bad times to have to go out of town. Luckily the school was really good about working around that. Hopefully your profs will be understanding. Is it a small school? There might be a dean or someone you can go to who can tell your profs to give you extensions. That's how it worked at my school, anyway.
