Five-minute fiction - 23:43-23:48
It was a long way down. A long way. The Pinnacle was the tallest building in the City. It dominated the landscape of the market, and it was old. No one was sure how old it was, because it had been here as long as the City had. But over time, as things did in the City, it began to change. It rested on the boundary of Cheepside and the Market Gardens, one of the wealthier areas, and had started to become a strange icon of transition. As time wore on strange huts occupied by all manner of tradesmen, common and uncommon, began to rise steadily up the Pinnacle. At first the Citys watch had tried to keep them down, even committing to a number of burnings. Other times the huts were pried like barnacles to from the hull of ship, only this time the barnacles tended to take offence at being pried off and through things at you. Good times meant rocks, food, bad times meant shit.
