Five-minute fiction - 10:22-10:27
What do you want? Grim slurred as he wrenched the door open. His throat tightened as he looked up, and further up into the smooth, steely face of a Tick-Tock.
The arm which had been raised and bent at the elbow dropped with the clinking of gears and the other, which clutched a satchel rose and extended toward Grim. Who flinched away, but only a little.
Who is it? Darker called from where he lay sprawled on the floor. And do they have any idea what time it is.
Grim, frozen, watched the Tick-Tock as it raised the hand it had so recently dropped and signalled the time. Mid-Morning, or thereabouts. Grim was not exactly sure how the Tick-Tocks experienced time, but the gestures were pretty universal he supposed, even for a mechanical man. The Tick-Tock moved forward pushing the satchel closer to Grim, who promptly moved back, just to be safe. He thawed a little, realizing that the thing was probably on a delivery and took the satchel.
