So... I did a little research and it turns out that the IT services at Exeter have banned 'porn' from the residential network. So that means no SG after I move in. (I'm aware of the porn vs. pin-up debate but lets not get into that). Now I can fully understand filtering adult rated stuff from the public computers; libraries, labs, etc. etc. because for some strange reason not everyone is into that kind of gig. But filtering what people have access to in their rooms makes me damn angry, especially because you're paying the IT services there 70 for your connection. Providing I keep up with my studies and return some investment on the education I'm getting why should they care what I do in my free time?

Gah, I can already taste the myspace-fuelled vanilla-net, it's not pretty. Maybe I can start a hipster-softporn-society... to the drawing board I go.
