Random goings on in my life:

Two weekends ago:

Had the fight with the bro
Brunch with SGOC. Had a fuckin' blast
Went car shopping with obd. The schmucks at HB Mazda are sexist. I'm still angry with them. I've decided on the XD (any comments? I'm looking at you stiles).
Had dinner with obd and Ivarr at an Indian place baudot recommended

Wednesday following that weekend:
Bro hasn't been talking to me since Friday when I bruised his ego so I'm a little shocked when he called me repeatedly before I was even awake.

I answer and hear a tearful voice say, "You have to help me I'm stuck in New Mexico." Turns out he tried to rescue his girlfriend in Columbus, Ohio (they met over Halo 2). I'm calling bullshit on her story (drug deal gone horribly awry).

I put money in his account and tell him to come home but if he needs to to get a hotel room to sleep. He chooses to drive home without sleeping. The boy had been up for 24 hours.

In the mean time I cry all the way to work because I'm so tired of men fucking me over in all the wrong ways.

At work the uppers decide to change the design on something and fuck me over. I'm frustrated and having a shitty day. I text a few people that I need a hug and a drink. Ultimately no one was able to come through (for good reasons naturally).

Bro gets home and tells me that 400 miles outside L.A. the car in front of him flips six times. Had he not been there the two girls would have been in bad shape. As it was one had to be airlifted as she'd shattered her leg. The kicker: They're from Huntington and go to Goldenwest. I hope he makes friends with them.

Last weekend:

Coworker and I went to my home town because her dad just moved there. We all had a pleasant time. The best (and most unexpected) part: Her mom gave me $100 for driving. I tried giving it back she wouldn't take it.

Random decisions:

I'm going to Tucson in the middle of April for a journalism convention instead of taking off for a week around my birthday. Wish me luck.

I think I would like a huge blow out party for my birthday, probably the week before. But I can't have it at my place. Suggestions?

The Xd has a nicer interior and more useful power than the Xa it replaces, and the instruments are finally in the right place. It does have large-ish blind spots from the thick c-pillars.

I'd probably spend the 400 bucks for the uprated stereo but pass on the hideously expensive nav system.

It seems like a good choice overall.

I went to a Kia dealership in Victorville, first they let me test drive a Sportage that was sooo out of alignment they shouldn't have let anyone see it and second the salesman was telling my sister and I about the places we could put our lipstick and the mirrors on the inside. Needless to say I will never ever buy a Kia based on that experience (even if the car had been perfect). I don't like the xd that much I prefer the xa but mostly that's because it doesn't have as many (or nearly any) blind spots and I'm kinda obsessive about that, but hurray for getting a new car!
