heh.....i think i should just put my whole ZOO up for sale.
just fucking ridiculous.
I have spent just over 1000 dollars on and for this Panther Chameleon. Whom I ADORE. But today as i was misting him, (for the third time this morning and still under 30% humidty GRR!) I noticed he was trying to poop. only he looked like he was having troubles.....it appeared he was ejoying a rectal prolapse (instestines/bowel whatever coming out of his body) So i immediately run to the interweb to find help. get told what was happening and i should call the vet. the vet clinic says to come in right away and it will cost 50-58 dollars plus whatever treatments and medications. As you will notice from my previous entry i only have 70 dollars in my account, and twenty in my wallet. I have never had a vet bill that was less than 80 dollars. ever.
SO now i get to be a horrible pet owner, and completley unable to get treatment for his ails for a week.
*grumbles*
on top of his intestines falling out. I have exahusted most of my resources in trying to keep his home above 70% humidity. I have an automatic mister, a fountain, an ultrasonic humidifier (which, with our hard water has a destroyed membrane only two weeks after buying it) I don't want to keep him in a sealed aquarium because that's bad for their health.....I dont want him to get infections and such. ugh. my next steps are going to be to get a smaller wattage heat source to hopefully lower the dry heat, and buy a room humidifier.....
ps. Don't buy panther chameleons when you live in a Semi-arid climate.

got to a local hydroponic grow store and you can get a mister used to water plants on a timer thats what my buddy uses and hes got like 4 cameleons.
