I totally admire your ability to accept responsibility and own up to the accountability part of all this. It's very grown up and it's a very responsible attitude to have, but DOOOOOOD!!!!!!! With the type of reputation you've earned and the skills you obviously possess, there's got to be some way for "conditional status" or some sort of probationary thing. I profess total ignorance to the system under which you guys work, but why would someone with an obvious love of the job and outstanding capabilities be so quickly dismissed for "tardies" that are related to a situation that is totally temporary (e.g., car trouble). What's your recourse for this?
