The blank space up there in my "Favorite Suicidegirl" list is for Dusty, god damn it!

Went to a concert last night at Devil's Point and got rocked. Check out www.GoLikeHell.com. Best concert I've been to forever. Sound like the Plasmatics, or maybe the Distillers. Lead singer is absolutely nuts....wasn't up on stage, just down with the audience. She'd sing for a bit, then haul off and punch a listener in the face, or push somebody, or hit 'em with her...

Hey folks - thanks for the comments.

Back from Cancun. Awesome trip...really relaxing. Thought it might get wild, too, but I guess it's the off season. It was nice to just sit on the beach and drink banana daiquris, though. Really flippin hot, though - always about 95 degrees, and the the humidity that was supposed to feel like 110.

Oh, and the Mercury printed...

Hey, great news! I just graduated on Friday - and I just landed my first consulting gig! $1500 a week for six weeks, plus a trip to Malaysia, Singapore, and China! Sweet!

Plus, tomorrow morning I'm off to Cancun for a week to celebrate graduation. It's an all-inclusive resort, so it's all-you-can-eat and all-you-can-drink...it's going to be awesome. The hotel is 18 y/o and over,...

Sorry for the delayed response to your comment. It got lost amongst my many meaningless journal entries.

Have fun traveling. I'd be happy to get out of Oregon. I'm uber jealous.

WARNING: I AM A GEEK

Hey everyone! I downloaded a program yesterday that lets scientists use my computer when I'm not. Now, whenever my computer hasn't been used for two minutes, it starts

1) Scanning extraterrestial radio signals for messages from aliens and

2) Running particle collision simulations for the new Large Hadron Collider for CERN in Europe. They're building a new particle accelerator, and...

Well, I'm new here and couldn't figure out what to put in this space. Here's the letters I've written to the local alternative newspaper; they're pretty funny. I've written three over the years, and all three were published! This one is new, and just went out today...Iwonder if it'll make the cut for next week's issue?

Hello, folks! The Mercury's a great rag, and the...

The THIRD - and most angry - letter I ever wrote to The Portland Mercury, which was published on June 9th, under the heading "Blow My Mom's Head Off, Please!"

HEY MERCURY: This is in response to Kelly McKnight's letter, and to some degree Phil Busse's article "No Lessons Learned" [Letters and News, June 2].

What is WRONG with you people? If someone is lunging...

The second letter I wrote to The Mercury, which was published on July 3rd of 2003:

HEY, PORTLAND MERCURY:
I love you.
I'm not hip, I'm not fashionable, I have a tin ear, and I can't taste the difference between the food at C.H.I.E.R.S. or BlueHour. But! I read your paper every week and--voila! I get dates! In spite of all those things! Cause I...

The first letterI ever wrote to The Portland Mercury, which was published in their May 2nd, 2001 issue:

Apparently you're experiencing some confusion about the new Rachael Leigh Cook movie [Josie and the Pussycats, April 12]. I don't know what sort of addlepated formula you used to grade this film, but you pointy-headed niggling nabobs better straighten up and fly right.

Now, I'm too lazy...
