Proper blog just because I like being near the top of everyone's things to read list
I am sober. It's a bit odd.
I started drinking last Wednesday and it didn't really stop until today. It's been very varied drinking though - at home, in the local, in London, in Portsmouth - so I've avoided getting in a rut
Important stuff - went down to Portsmouth on Friday to watch the Small Mercies who were ace. Caught up with lots of lovely people who all know who they are and as I am too lazy to list them all so I won't. Suffice to say I had a good time as always even if it was near the home of the Little Satan. Went to go home as I had to catch a ridiculously early last train home and the cold air brought home how drunk I was. I really should get food before I start drinking.
Saturday we had a field trip with college and went up to the Mass Observation archives at the University of Sussex Library. The Library was really quiet which was nice for me as I was feeling a bit delicate. The archives contain lots of first hand unedited reports and diaries and it was another of those fascinating things I would never have got the chance to do without going back to school.
With my hangover cured by 3 hours study and quiet I went to the pub with some of the peeps from college. This would be about 3pm and I pretty much drank from then until I was chucked out of a pub at closing time. I worked out how long this was today but I don't really want to think about it right now. Any after a couple at the pub in Brighton I dashed off to get a train to London. I picked up a sausage roll and some crisps this time and called that dinner which makes Saturday marginally more sensible then Friday. After a quick drink in the pub my sisters pub I went and met Angel_Ree, pinklet, Jackie, firemonkey and glory13 in the old haunt where we stayed until they wouldn't let us stay no longer. The swines.
Randomly saw Sky and MrSky on the tube on the way home which was very bizarre. They were on a tube I had just got off. What are the odds?
And Sunday morning I played football. I have some nice bruises now. Football creates a good sort of achiness which keeps you aware that you've been out being healthy and active.
Tonight was spoilt somewhat by being reminded that whilst I've been out getting drunk I should really have been revising for an exam I've got next week. At least I didn't waste the time though
