Long time, no update. Well it's been a long time for me anyway.

This week has been pretty cool despite work. Work can just fuck off as far as I am concerned, it keeps getting in the way off me having a good time.

Anyway Wednesday I had the afternoon off and went into town to meet my friend Holly who I lived with briefly for a tea and a chat. She is moving to Glasgow in a few weeks as she is completely pissed off with the prices down here and the way some of the people who are meant to be her friends have been treating her.

A lot of them are now telling her not to move but if they had been around her recently they'd realise that living down here is not making her happy and that she has to do something. I think a lot of them just feel guilty because they know they haven't been great friends recently and are trying to make it up by saying they want her to stay. Basically that's just more selfishness on their part though. I told her to ignore them and go and sort her life out, she's better of doing that then sitting on her arse waiting for it to happen. Very little happens if you don't go out and make it do so.

It was a nice chin-wag and then I went and did a bit of shopping - new jeans, new belt and records of course. I also went in a second hand book shop that I must have walked past millions of times but never entered. Those are lost years but I am determined to make up for it now as it's a magical place, most of it's in the cellar and full of nooks and crannys. Picked up the only Bill Bryson book I haven't read for 1.50 which is a pretty good start.

Friday I saw Seafood who are one of my all time favourite bands. They are completely uncool. They had a real shot at being successful a few years ago. But then the singers lung collapsed which sort of held them back. He's a lot less shouty these days for obvious reasons but it's made them really beautiful and melodic. They were ace live as always, it was the last date of the tour as well so they were right on the ragged edge.

Tonight (well yesterday night now) I went to see Nina Nastasia. She has a heart stopping voice and I could listen to her sing the alphabet and my hear would melt. It was in St Georges Church which is just the perfect venue for quiet music, it's so easy to get lost in the imagery and the sounds there. That's actually my number one reason Christianity ain't all bad - it has left us with some incredible buildings.

Back to work in a few hours. My legs might not be up to it though as training in the sun was brutal this morning.
