If I survive this weekend it should be the best ever. Its a big if though.
One of my best friends I met when she was at uni in Brighton. She stayed for a year or so after but then she hit financial troubles(as former students do) and had to move back to Blackpool to live with her parents. This weekend though she is returning for her birthday celebrations. The drinking should commence at 5pm on Friday and the night will get messy.
Then on Saturday we are having the now traditional (its the third year) early christmas dinner at my uncles. Good food, good wine and the best company will make for a wonderful evening. It will be one of those nights that remind me why I am so lucky that I was born into this family.
Sunday will be football which is always good and then possibly drinks with a friend I haven't seen properly for ages. This should be a sort of breather day, hopefully.
And finally on Monday its another friends birthday party. I will go to this with the intention of not drinking very much so that I can cope with work the next day. It is a noble intention but doomed to failure.
If all weekends were as good as this one I would understand why I go to work 5 days a week to do something that bores me to tears. I really have to figure out what I want from life soon but thats not as easy as typing that sentence was.
