So it appears that I may have cracked a rib, not just bruised it. That is the considered opinion of people who have done the same. All I know is it hurts like a bastard.

In retrospect going football training 2 days after injuring it was probably not a good idea. Going to see Trail of Dead 2 days after that was definately dumb but...

Fuck me but that was loud. I have the worst case of tinnitus I have ever had this morning. Well worth it though, they were awesome. Awesome is definately the right word, they just blew me away.

Dancing when you have bruised ribs is very painful though. It was to hard to stand still though, I just had to get involved. biggrin

So anyway todays word...

I ache. Absoluetly everywhere. It's worse around my ribs and please don't make me laugh as that really hurts but there is not a spot on my body that is not feeling yesterdays game at keast a little bit. It's always like this when I haven't played for a while. Training tomorrow will either kill or cure. I hope the latter but I am not...

Played (and lost) a very physical game today. Only notable for me, probably our least dirty player, kicking the guy I was marking straight up in the air. Twice.

Shouldn't have elbowed me should he? Or split my lip?

Didn't do anything after I kicked him the second time so mission accomplished as far as I'm concerned. No booking either. Nice.

Bruised ribs hurt like...

That's a shame; I hadn't realized there were repercussions for being a twat to the ref. Makes sense though. Have you ever seen the way baseball players abuse the officials? They'll get thrown out eventually, but you can pretty much scream every obscenity you know for five minutes or so before they'll do anything about it.

Hopefully my internship (and future ideal career) will be my way of backing up daydreams with hard work!

Low were awesome, quite simply out of this world, earth-shatteringly brilliant. There is not a band on the planet like them, never has been and probably never will be. I feel kind of privileged to have been in the same room with them on Thursday night and it wasn't even the best show I've seen them do.

They ended with 'Will The Night'. Perfect.

Hung...

Wow, that's a really cool way of looking at it. That made me feel better about my daydreaming, thank you!

Hunh. I knew Leonard Cohen wrote it, but I did not know he'd recorded it. Interesting. I will have to check out that version.

Glad your last few days have been so good. smile

I have so very little to say at the moment.

Cricket was great, a semblance of pride was restored.

Football was cancelled so I've been bored all day. I hate Sundays without football.

I should fill in an application form for a course I want to start next September but that's boring (not the course, the application form).

Ho hum. whatever
mad_fer_it:
boredom beats misery.... that damn pedro mendes.... clearly the thatcher bad karma is still kickin our arse.... relegation is knipping at our heels.... and to add insult to injury spurs had all four strikers in the match at the same time today.... each of the four 10 times better than anything city rolls out onto the pitch...

i assume football was cancelled due to poor pitch conditions.... the sheffield utd ground looked like a cow pasture today....

while i do love nearly all that is brit, i draw the line at cricket.... sorry mate....
takesatraintocry:
What's the course on? What's the Thatcher connection to spurs? I'm full of questions.

So far this month I have sepent over a hundred quid on new music. This doesn't include going to gigs. Guarenteed I will look back at the end of the month and wonder where all my money went so this is a little reminder for me - YOU SPENT IT ON TUNES DICKHEAD.

There, that oughta work. biggrin

Shoulda used some of that scratch to visit the Emirates Stadium and watch Brazil vs Portugal in person. I watched it on the channel last night. Christiano team captain is a bit of a stretch and Caravahlo's goal was beyond lucky but look out in Euro 2008.

USA vs Mexico is here in Phoenix tonight but I opted to stay home and watch England vs Spain on tv.... shocking I know....

Please hastle arse boy about being best buddies with Paul Weller now... the prick... biggrin

I love all talk of nipples and Mecca. Blasphemy generally.

As to the Chevy... I'm not sure that I actually got the make right. It might be a Ford, but in that era there was a fad for these little tiny circular 'porthole' windows. Point being they're completely useless as windows; decorative only.

We won a huge game 4-1 today. Now I am pissed. Nothing else matters.

I'm glad you understand me and my rants. You can always count on the English to snap up the sarcasm. Or is that a national stereotype?

I saw the first band to disappoint me this year toight. New Young Pony Club -style over substance and cery dull. Does the world really need any more rehashed disco beats?

I'm listening to The Raincoats, The Pastels and XTC right now - 80s indie-pop nonsense! I think I struck really lucky when digging through my favourite record shop on payday. biggrin
takesatraintocry:
XTC rules. I've always wanted to listen to the Raincoats, and I've never heard of The Pastels. Must get back into music. I'm rocking the Tom Waits 3disc doozy - just picked it up. Damn fine.

The Albion drew.
AFC Stanley, my Saturday side, drew.
The Romans, my Sunday side, won.

Unbeaten for the weekend.

Plus I spent fuck all money all weekend biggrin

If only I'd played a bit of football insted of being sub all the time it would have been perfect.
takesatraintocry:
Who decides who are the subs and who plays? Can you pay someone off?
