California Rock, Rock on. After a few months hitchin' through New Zealand I've come home for a few weeks to surprise my family at my cousin Eric's wedding. I come from a pretty big family - well sorta, I only have 2 siblings but my mom has 5 and my dad has 11 and each of them are married and there's a lot of cousins. Eric is cousin number 3 of 12 on my mom's side and I'm number 4. - so it was really nice to see everyone again. New Zealand is freakin' awesome and I recommend everyone get up and go while the gettin' is good. But that's off subject. Eric's wedding was awesome. My cousins and I are pretty much best friends and the combination of matching personalities and alcohol led for some good stories.

All the cousins
The fun started when my cousins new bride, Laura, came down the isle to the 80's song Send Me An Angel. The ceremony was done by Laura's brother Michael - Their parents are both dead and they make up pretty much the extent of their family - and there was a lot of humor. Once they kissed the Dj put on the theme to The Never Ending Story and as they walked up the isle as an official married couple the fun really took charge. It was at a winery in Temecula and all but two rooms were occupied by guests of the wedding so we had a run. Open Wine and Beer bar made everyone that much more happy. I'm what you might call a quite person but I was elected by my cousins to give the toast from my table and some how I managed to offend my Cousin Dan's Wife and my cousin Marc's long time girlfriend - so that was fun. And then came the music.

The slide that recked my pants
We took over the dance floor and never looked back. After it was all done I had a non-existent backside to my pants, my cousin Jon was bleeding, 20 year old Lauren was being betroved to Eric's 35 year old friend, my sister Jen was m.i.a. and the rest were in just as bad shape; I can't remember a better time. After the dancing Eric and Laura led us all up their suite for a giant after party. After a few hours I was tempted out to the vineyard by one of Laura's bridesmaids and her and I had one of the better nights of my life. Nah, not like that... well sorta, but it was essentially skinny dippin'. The two of us shed our clothes and spent the better part of the next three hours walking through the vines, sittin' down on the grass lookin' up at the stars and drinkin' more alcohol. Oh and there was the really fun sex.
Seeing my family was awesome but I'm anxious to get back to New Zealand. Plus with only two of the cousins having boyfriends and girlfriends there probably isn't a wedding in the horizon for a few more years so I got time to travel before the next great time.
If anyone wants to see some photos I'll be gettin' an album going soon.
