This song and video came out in 1994 on the album "Weight," and it was my first exposure to Henry Rollins (with Rollins Band). It began my lifelong love of the man and his works. I've seen his Spoken Word 5 times, and introduced countless friends to him and his creations. I've read several of his books and poetry collections, watched innumerable interviews and...

Some people have such a unique brand of creativity it makes them pretty singular. I can see why you would get so immersed. Makes me think of Bill Hicks for some reason.
fredhincanada:
@eminerale Henry Rollins is worth the deep dive. Believe me.

5. A book or book series that you love.

-

-

At first, it was difficult to pick which book series I wanted to use for this entry on the Gauntlet. Between liking so many series, and some of the fantastic blogs other members have posted about series I love, I was having a real tough go of it. I considered "The Sword of

4. A video game that you have spent the most hours playing.

I had so many that I wanted to choose to answer for the Gauntlet, from games like X-Com, Quest for Glory, Fallout, Elder Scrolls, GTA, Mario Kart (or anything from the Mario universe), Golden Eye 64, and even Bubble Bobble. But, ultimately, there has been one game franchise that has

2. What is a piece of art that you have, or would love to have, hanging on your wall or sitting in your house?

I know this may seem an odd choice for the Gauntlet for a steadfast Atheist like myself, but I have my reasons. And no, it isn't for Adam's tiny unit. 😂

@silentobjectorx I’m not as keen on art as I once was. I found a lot of art and artists from bygone eras that I fell in love with. Nowadays, I tend to love nerd art more than anything else. It could be a phase. Lol.
silentobjectorx:
@fredhincanada oh dude, yeah I hear you. It may not be a phase but I like that answer lol. I'm cool with it either way. I find that once you know about said bygone era artists, it doesn't really need to be revisited unless you want to!  So yeah, all good either way buddy! Posted a new blog would love public and not so public feedback from you man at some point (no rush). Unless (I cannot see how though) something in said blog doesn't sit right with you! Talk to you later dude! Have a good rest of the day and weekend!

3. One of your comfort movies/series that you have seen more than 3 times.

I could have chosen quite a few movies or tv series to answer this question, and all would have been just as valid to me. I decided to go with a tv series, because they tend to last a long time to get through, so they feel more present in

1. Tell us about one of your favorite songs of all time.

I included this question, originally, in my 7 post gauntlet mostly for the music lovers in this community. The folks I normally get to try new music from, like @sheashannara, @skisby, @jecht, @sdawg74, @metalfreak, @silentobjectorx, and most recently, @kiley and @nebula. Plus the occasional song or two from several other great...

@silentobjectorx It is a good song. And Butthole Surfers had some great tunes, too. “Pepper” is a staple. I’ll eventually check out those albums, too. Stop overloading me!  Lol.

@fredhincanada lol. You got it bud.

I always enjoyed Star Trek but it was very much a family affair where we all watched it on telly in the evenings. In 1977, a few months before my 12th Birthday, I saw the original Star Wars movie at the cinema and was totally blown away. Absolutely awestruck. I have been a fan ever since.
fredhincanada:
@hotdoguk And you are justified in that reaction. I love Star Wars, too. Even the bad ones. I grew up on Star Wars, but the only time my family got together and got along was during X-Files, MASH, and Star Trek - The Next Generation. But those 2 newer Star Trek series?  Soooo good.
