Happy New Years everyone! smilerobotsmile

My new year's resolutions are a month long to make them more manageable.
Here they are:
- no coffee
- no alcohol
- no fast food
- no donuts, cake, pie, cookies, etc.
- no red meat
- no other kind of blatantly processed, fried, sugary or greasy foods
- exercise three times a week

Kind of prohibitive I guess, but the most important thing about cleaning up my act is cutting out all the crud that's making me fat.
People aren't saying that I'm getting fat or anything but I can feel it creep up to new highs.
I'm at my heaviest because of two things: no regular exercise in over a year, a hideous amount of donuts I've eaten in the last five months.
At my work we have a system where if anyone screws up someone buys donuts. Okay, well we're accident-prone I guess, or sugar addicted.
I've been drinking a lot of coffee also. My dad keeps telling me how coffee raises cortisol levels and screws you up basically. He's really into the health supplements.
I want to get that Perricone diet book and some good supplements like DMAE, alpha lipoic acid and coral shell.

First month is to get all the stuff out of my system. That'll be hard enought so I won't worry too much about my exercise being vigorouse enough. I'm planning on next month I'll step that up.

Anyway, I just made a big pot of black-eyed peas. Did you know that's traditionally a thing you eat on New Years? Sounds good to me.

joyrider:
thanks for the fitness tips, cousin. much appreciated. i figure yoga will be a good way to keep me from getting stiff and muscle-bound. i pack on muscle fast, which is definitely a double-edged sword. if i don't stay limber i get stiff wid da quickness...
