The brick rolled under his foot and Jerry barked his shin, hard, on the edge of the next roof. His next action was to fall flat on his face and skid across the loose gravel for a bit. It was probably better than falling into the alley below, but his shin hurt like hell and if past experience was any indicator his right forearm was a bloody mess. Jerry got up, with difficulty, and kept moving. This wasn't the first time he'd gone darting off across rooftops, and it certainly wasn't the first time he'd beeen hurt doing so. He might be a bit bloodied, but stunned and bloody was no excuse to get caught. After a few minutes he caught his breath and took off again at a slow trot.
