AWWWW!! I am so sorry that your holiday was a bust. I know how that goes, believe me. My family is the epitome of dysfunctional. I spent many a christmas night crying, alone in my room, wishing that I belonged to any other family but mine. If on christmas morning I wasn't beaming with joy at every article of crap(things that I in no way desired to receive as gifts), then I would be bitched at for not appreciating the things that I was so lucky to have. The only reason this christmas was so great was because my in-laws actual appreciate me for my wacky, avant garde ways, and they gave me things that I would be able to use, or that were unique, like me. Whereas my family would only buy me things that they liked, and they being very conservative christian people, it would always be things like, bibles, and gold crosses, which are nice. But not at all my style. Which they were always giving me shit for anyway.
But don't let it bum you out too much. There is always a brighter side to life. And I'm sure you will find yourself basking in the light of goodness and happiness soon. You should grab a few close friends and take a trip to the snow. Start your very own holiday tradition. That way there will be something else to look forward to when it seems that all of the holiday drama is holding you down. Big happy holiday hugs to you!

Seriously though, 500-600 mg of ibuprofen or acetominophen (tylenol ok) every 4 hours and plenty of extra fluids - juice or water, no soda, no coffee, no caffeine - and lots of rest will have you better soon.

I need to clean my house, it's gotten pretty cluttered, clothes everywhere, and dishes to do. It sucks not having a dish washer, or a washing machine and dryer. Yay for naked house cleaning though, just don't get any harmful chemicals on your whatnots. That could be bad.
