Figment is clad in only her bikini bottom sitting with her feet in the sand, and the sun on her back eating a bumble bar and reading diderot. This girl couldnt be happier!!!
As for the rest of it all, I feel like I've come back out into the world from the bubble that is my school. Fot those of you who don't know, It's a school which functions almost fully in it's own right with very little outside interaction. Known as a "hippie" school, the ideas of environmental sustainablity, community, sharing, taking care of eachother, are all practiced. I think we're tired into the power grid and the sewer system and that's about it. Currently, I'm sitting in the midst of what I left, with all of the beautiful people, their fancy cars, the plasticity, the brand names EVERYWHERE, all of it turning my stomach. Only the sand and the surf and the beauty of the warm air and sun upon my skin is what keeps me from returning to the mountians without blinking an eye. (It's warmer here than there.) The only thing I can justify to myself doing for the rest of my life is to work with and for places who preserve our natural landscapes and teach tthose with whom we come in contact about them. To travel, to learn our world, and to teach it to others.
The babble from yesterday is beautiful and valid, but not applicable to the world with a directness.
I don't want to save the world... just educate those who are living upon it without thought of any other way... It's their world too...
-sigh- Big thoughts for a vacation eh?
