The democrats are bitching about walmart again. This time they're wanting the employees to be paid a living wage. My first thought is "you mean to tell me that six dollars an hour *isn't* living wage? I mean at forty hours a week, that's 240 dollars a week, take out 15% ($36) for taxes and healthcare, and tyou're taking home $204. four weeks in a month means your take home is $816. What do the dems mean that you can't live on that?
Your housing bill will be about 600 inc utilities and telephone and food and gas will take up the rest of it. That's living. Not well, but its living. (9,792 takehome per year)

(I feel free to make these comments because I was and am below the poverty line and I qualify for nothing as I am a normal white young nonsnmoking female... life is tough but it is what you make it. If you want to be a millionaire in this country, go make millions. Noone is stopping you.)

I spent a year living on $6.30/hr, working ~35 hours a week. That was about 3 years ago. It wasn't ideal but my standard of living was acceptable. I paid my rent, paid my car insurance, ate fine, and went out occasionally. I was broke a lot, but we're talking about a living wage, not a living-well wage.

People need to learn how to make better choices. People also need to learn the glories of beans and rice.

and the Republicans have done wonders in stopping the minimum wage from being raised and elimianting overtime, might drive costs up
