Mike died.

I just found out.

In top physical shape, while five days into a cross country bike trip, his heart said no more and that was that. It happened in june last year. I wasn't there for it now was around to tell. (my traveling and being out of touch prevented me from knowing until now. This is the one moment when I hate the life I've lived.)

Sigh.

I'm headed to california in a couple of weeks for a visit... and already planning on stopping by their place... Now I will visit for longer than I planned on.

(mike is/was the husband of one of my very close friends, and the father of one of my first girlfriends. Truely a ledgend of a fellow, he provided well for his family and friends. I was told that the church was PACKED for the memorial. He'd be embarressed to know that he affected that many people. His boat had never missed a race, and he'd crossed the country several times on his bicycle. His philisophy was that it's life and life happens and to keep going and if its not working then to do it differently. )

I am the last of the children to find out. and am sad and crying...
