There's an old skool 1940's style USO dance taking place here in the next little bit or so. Details are getting loaded onto the events section. It'll be alot of fun because YOU will be there! And if you try to tell me that you can't dance or don't know how, there's a lesson and an open floor on Tuesday where you can learn and practice! ~.^
Common! Come out and dance!
If you ask nicely and promise not to squish my feet, I may even dance with you!

Enough plugging.
Today is good. My cat woke me up, and looking out my windows the sun is shinging... I've been told that it'll be about 70 degrees today! (Maybe I'll find those cute miniskirts and sandals that I have and wear them. eeek ) ~.^

I feel more myself than I have in months.
It's a wonderful wonderful feeling.
Yay!

biggrin
I found a little plant nursery that I wanna go take a look at and half a dozen other nifty things to do today, so I'm outta here for now.
~.^

70? Isn't supposed to be snowing over there or something?

I don't know SC's climes that well.

Heck, I'm in CA and the only thing keeping me warm right now is bourbon.

I've been icing this knee. You know, so I can dance. Anyway, I'm just up for a glass of water. The treehouse, in my humble opinion, needs much consideration before you get started to be successfully done. First, I think the tree should be a Live Oak- green all year, super strong with low slung branches. Think New Orleans Oaks. Or Sherwood Forest. Then the structure should be built with a high strength to weight ratio. Think of woods used in aircraft like Sitka Spruce. Then it should be low impact to the tree, and almost a living, breathing, moving structure in itself, able to survive swaying in the wind. Think Japanese post and beam techniques. Those buildings routinely survive earthquakes. Nails pull out and begin to kill the tree. Some thought should go into building to the shape of the tree rather than drawing something site unseen. Frank Lloyd Wright used to say a structure should look as if it grew out of the landscape. Like a gently sloping branch supporting a few stepped levels rather than one big flat plaform spanning a huge area. More points of support mean less stress on each single point of contact with the tree. But my mind is needing to get back to my dream soon. Pretty groggy. tongue
