Yesterday I had the intense desire to see the ocean. (which is a four hour drive away)
Today it rained.
I'll take my water any way I can get it I suppose.


Ocean views that I want to see one day:
Snow on the beach.
A vast desert of sand that just drops into the water.
A volcano erupting and the lava seeping down into the water and putting up VAST quantities of steam.
(and because I can count on one hand the times I've been out to sea on a boat)
I want to stand in a boat and see nothing but the ocean on all sides of me... no land in the distance, no birds flying overhead. And I want to know what that is. (silly eh?)


Another good thing about all this rain is that it also shows where I need to put more dirt around the house to keep the backyard from becoming a moat. And as it's drying a growing field for yummy molds and such. hmm... that would make a good experiment, but I don't want mold by the house. :shrug: Either way, it's a great day to make mud pies!

Missississippi mud pies are decadent. Tasty, and memorable. I have to say your wishes touch me. I've seen most of those things, no actually now that I think of it I remember a week off the Aleutians where dark clouds and steam were around a billowing spire(initially in my mind I was looking to Hawaii, but no) but not all of them have been happy. More like lonely. Comes with the territory going to sea for so many years either in the Navy or as a commercial fisherman.
It's good that you aren't afraid of the second element. It's mostly what we're made of. I've come to embrace it as a friend.
