UPDATE: Don't you guys get me wrong--I don't think the Cards are a slouch team, but when you are a Red Sox fan and see the likes of Jeter, A-Rod, Matsui, Williams, etc on almost a weekly basis, AND have that intense hatred, the perspective of the game changes. I like how the Cards run the bases and I think they are a great club, but for me, the Yankees are the enemy, therefore more feared. I know my baseball shit, and I know that 8 errors is ridiculous. And I can only hope the Sox win 1 game in St. Louis.
Grrr. How many times do I say that I am not going to wait until the end of the weekend to update? Sigh. Well, I'll try to make it as concise as possible. That should be fairly easy since the Red Sox are in Game 2 of the World Series.
Friday: Alicia, Darcy, Jessica, and I sat around in sweatpants and sweatshirts. Really. All we did was talk about our housing plans, drink beer and white russians, and smoke 3 blunts. Good times.
We are going to get along so well together.
Saturday: I got a new cell phone---I went with Verizon mainly because my sister has a plan with them and that enables us to talk to each other free anytime of day or night.
I went to see Social D, Tiger Army, and The Explosion that night at Lupo's. The Explosion is an awesome punk band from Bostob, Tiger Army was very boring (the lead singer like had to tell a story in between every single song), Social D was amazing! Brian didn't like the bands at all, but he likes Long Island Ice Teas so that kep him happy. He pretty much just stood behind me and made sure no one bumped me will I bobbed to the music. Later, we went to Taco Bell, drank some Cape Codders, smoked a bowl, watched the Red Sox win Game 1 (no thanks to the fielding adventures of Manny Ramirez
), and ended up fooling around. Always happens.
Especially when we watch a porno together.
Advice to Red Sox fans: Smoke pot during games. Keeps the stress level down just a notch.
Sunday: Worked out at the gym in the morning and went to see The Grudge in the afternoon. I thought it was a good movie--nothing too scary, just enough to keep you on the edge of your sight without jumping. Did a little more porno watching, and I will let you guess what happened from there.
Jesus Christ. Can the Red Sox make any more errors? Goddamn. They are lucky that they are hitting off the pitchers. I don't know. It's kind of weird...I'm not even nervous watching the World Series. After going through the emotional ringer of winning 4 games in a row, I don't see the St. Louis Cardinals as THAT big a deal. Granted, they had the best league in baseball, but the Yankees have a far more impressive line-up. I'm just enjoying the games and wishing the error count would drop so that Schilling does not have to work so hard with his busted ankle. Damn you, Bill Mueller!
And Mark Bellhorn. AHHHH! Maybe they'll earn a new record of most errors committed in a World Series. Well, as long as they win, who will care??
Okay, so how was YOUR weekend?
