Sorry I haven't been around much lately frown Things have been very hectic and busy here. I will write a good update as soon as I can... kiss

Edit: one would think that with all the work I do, I would actually be getting more done.... instead I'm just so tired as to be increasingly incoherent surreal

I hope you are otherwise doing well.

I like the artwork in your profile pic. smile

There's lots of research to show that the UK - who have the longest working weeks - are less productive than most of the rest of Europe.

(Have / has? ha ha! I'm English and can mangle these things, it's allowed!)

I hope you manage to get stuff done and aren't working too hard.

I feel like changing my name, but because I'm so gosh darn considerate, I'm adding the new name in after the underscore so you have some time to adapt. Then, after a little while, Felicia will be no more and the transformation will be complete.

Edit/Add: I've been having a pretty crummy week, and am feeling not so great, so if you feel like cheering...

I'm not dead, even though I feel sort of zombie-like right now.

I'm amazed going to Worcester is looking like it will be the best part of the week!!! When is Worcester ever a hilight? [anyone who's been to Worcester knows what I mean] tongue

Oh and where you been??? You have a life don't you? tongue

P.S. Worcester is a cesspool so I know what you're saying. wink
legionnaire:
Worcester, eh? Can't say I know much about it - though if it's anything like most of the small new england towns I've visited I can relate.

My life feels like a Rubik's Cube. I can solve a side or maybe two, it looks perfect from a certain angle. But the other sides are still a fucked up mess of color squared chaos.

Got back from mini vacation to face piles of work to do! Of course.

I start my new job in a few weeks as well as moving up to Boston.

For the moment, some questions, courtesy Smuffy:

1. Who are you?
2. Are we friends?
3. When and how did we meet?
4. Do you have a crush on me?
5. Would you kiss...

questions, questions...too many questions! I need to deal with this when it's not so late and I'm inebriated.

Glad you liked my Burlesque pics. Wish you were there for chocolate mania. Fun doesn't even begin to describe it!

I went to my first SGBoston event this weekend, which was a lot of fun. Though it was Bailey and Sid's birthday, Bailey couldn't make it (for lack of transport), which was both ironic and unfortunate.

Some observations:

-- Sid is incredibly cute (and very tiny) in person. At one point I found myself staring at her back lacings in rapt fascination.

-- Everybody...

Yeah, that blood draw was brutal. Now at least it's spread out into a single, giant, uniform bruise. whatever MD's... what can you do?

Glad to hear you're getting out and joining in the SG social scene. Honestly that's my favorite part of the site, having a good group of people to go out with on a regular basis has been really fun.

Notes on the body as self:

Lots of things are changing in my life right now, and it has left me somewhat insecure.

But I realized, that's quite pointless, isn't it?

My hair right now is the color that grows out of my head. What is it? Brownish blondish redish dishwater? - that color -you know the one. The one girls who were blonde as...

what's up in providence?
are you all up in that RISD?
legionnaire:
Yeah, I really can't stand the whole idea that being an MD is somehow better or more prestigious than being a PhD. In fact, I was about a hair's breadth away from going to grad school at Johns Hopkins instead of Columbia, and the deciding factor for me was talking to a postdoc who told me that when she was there, all of the MDs were treated like gods and the PhDs were second class citizens. I figured I didn't want to be in a culture like that. Unfortunately, as soon as I got to Columbia we got a new dean who's an MD and is trying his hardest to change it to a more MD dominated model. Really annoying. As if them making more money already wasn't enough, right?

Can one be simultaneously a good girl and a bad girl? Or does one have to choose one or the other? blush kiss

have you ever cut your own hair? it's the most liberating feeling ever... i was going to shave my head, but the other day, i just started cutting (because it looked so awful... it's way overprocessed; i had very colorful hair up until a few months ago, then i dyed it black, which is now fading and looks like shit) and i ended up cutting it into a shape that i like. i can't wait to cut it again! it was soooo cool.
