Grant Park last night was incredible. I must be getting old, but I haven't stayed out past 2 in ten years....

It was unbelievable. The most touching moment, for me personally, was when I was walking down past the Palmer House, which is an old line hotel (and where Mailer stayed and wrote the Siege of Chicago in 1968). As the news came on that it was official, I a two bellhops stop, put down the luggage he was carrying, put his hand over his heart, and started to cry. He must have been about 70 -- old enough to remember 1968.

As per our previous conversation, I understand the fascination with MU. It's like the Pats on super-crack. The Champions League has to be the ultimate sporting event as far as I'm concerned. Regardless, you have to give some props to Liverpool. The fact that the Premier League places four teams in the Champions league is pretty impressive. And don't forget, they were in the championship last year, and they won in 4/5. MU hasn't been their since the 90s.

Either way, I don't really have a favorite team since I don't have a lot of exposure to the different leagues. If I had to choose it'd be a German or Irish club (since that's my ethnicity), but I really know nothing about any clubs from those countries. Unfortunately, all the US press is focused on the Champions League (some UEFA Cup, if you have the soccer channel, which I don't) and FIFA every few years. Being a fan of futbol in general (having played for 15 years) it really sucks.

I suppose if I really had to choose my club it would be the Chiapas Jaguars since they're the only team I've actually seen play in person.

So who's your favorite UEFA club now that we've established what you think about Liverpool? Or for that matter who's your favorite soccer club in general? Did you get to watch the MUFC game today?

They're legitimately not terrible. It's pretty odd. And even with Bowker coming down to earth a bit, FreddieLoooo and Valez and everyone else on this team that can run like the wind is just fun to watch.

If we could somehow have Zito assassinated, I think we'd have a shot at getting close to .500.
