Ok so last week my brother and I made appointments to have tattoos done. We went to one of if not the best shop in MTL to make an appointment with the artist who did the small symbol on my back.
Either way, we make the treck to the shop. The artist comes out and I introduce myself and my brother. I state what we want to get. We had seen examples of this on the site in his portfolio. He simply says yeah ok, gives us an estimated price and books the appointment.
I also stated that when I came in I would really like to talk to him about starting a 3/4 sleeve. To this, he doesn't seem interested at all and merely says....it's a commitment blah blah blah, and if your going to start it with me it has to be done within the time of a year. If your constantly going to flake on appointments and stuff I shouldn't start it.
I mean I understand him giving me this information, and maybe I took it the wrong way but honestly...the whole lack of interest thing REALLY hit home for me. It's fuckin 6:30 in the goddamn morning and I can't sleep because all I can think about is how nervous I am to get tattooed by this guy.
Good artist or not, I found him kinda rude. I really don't think he gives two shits about us or our tattoos. Maybe I've just been spoiled in the past with artists who will actually talk to you about your piece.
Do you think I'm wrong in feeling this way? I know for a fact that I will not go to him to get a sleeve but I'm thinking about not going for the small piece I was going to get done. I would rather save my money until I went home and got an artist in my area that I know to do it.
Question:
Should that artist attitude really matter when getting a tattoo, if you know they are good?
Short photo update, more to come I just am having trouble resizing with my new camera because the files are freakin HUGE and getting them onto the right computer.

The Aries symbol on the back of my neck is uneven, the lines are wavy, and one side is curved and the other side sorta curved. I'm going to one day get this redone as a stained glass looking piece so the thick lines can hide the current shitty ones.
The worst tat is my wrist piece. On the top side, there is literally a chunk of tattoo missing, a random line that doesn't follow the pattern, and several mistakes. The inner wrist is even worse. Look closely:
