This past Saturday, the 25th, was a VERY interesting day for me, and not very fun. For starters. I ended up falling off the bed and cracking my knee open by landing right on it. Fucking hurt like hell. Still does to a bit. But that was not the worst part about Saturday. So the kids came over, and Zoe was fundraising for her middle school band, (to make a long story short) on the way home from our last sales stop, a dog came out of now where and bit me on the ass. The dog is a pet, not some random stray, but I had to spend the evening on Saturday sitting in the ER, getting shots and X-Rays (because they wanted to make sure that the dog's tooth did not break off, because that would be extra surgery). The worst part of it all, the bite is right on the sitting part of my right butt cheek. So yeah, it is hard to sit down. I am on an antibiotic, but I still think it is infected. When I was putting some neosporin on it last night, it started to sting, which is a sign to me that it might be infected. The antibiotic has to be taken twice a day for ten days. But I really hate the cops around here as they will not even be putting the dogs in quarantine to see if they are infected with anything, and as of last night when I took all of my ER bills to the police station so they can add them t0 the report, the police officer in charge said that there had not been any tickets issued to the dog owners as of yet.
The issue is that I was a block away from the dog's house when they bit me. My daughter was with me, and I think that they would have gone for her if I didn't push her in front of me. AND the house where the dogs live are across the street from the public swimming pool. Now, don't get me wrong, I love animals, with all of my heart. Hell, after I left the ER on Saturday, we stopped by Sam's parents house and I gave my living to their great pyrenees named Alice, and then went home and cuddled with the guinea pigs for a while during a bit of resting and reading before bed. But if that dog broke skin, and bit me, when I was a block away, what the fuck is he going to do when the pool opens up and there are five year old walking to the pool. The dogs need to be at least checked to make sure that their shots are up to date and a ticket NEEDS to be issued to the owners, for at least a dog at large, so to better make sure that this doesn't happen again (it will act as a reminder to the owner, at least I hope so).
Anyway...here is the bite after we were able to clean it up a bit before we went to the hospital.
I know it doesn't look like much...but damn...it hurts like hell.
